Delicious new places to try in Bath this winter

Have you noticed the drop in temperature in Bath this last week or so? We have certainly been pulling out our winter woollies.  Winter is such a magical season, one that entices us to venture out to new places and discover delicious delicacies and of course a tipple or two.  There have been some exciting new additions to the city to tempt your palate this season, we know we will be taking a visit – will you?
Novel Wines
We love to see local businesses succeed, which is why we’re excited to discover that Bath’s online independent wine retailer is moving to the high street.  In fact, the store will open in Cork Place on Upper Bristol Road – they couldn’t have picked a more aptly named location.  Founded in 2016, the business was built on the expertise of Bath resident and award-winning wine journalist Ben Franks with Hungarian wine importer Gyorgy Zsiga.
“We’re the UK’s most exciting wine retailer, specialising in the truly unique and wonderful.” This is not just a store to purchase a bottle, with their on-premises licence you can also have the joy of trying a glass or two, we will certainly be popping in to taste what’s on offer.
Creams Café
It is the season for indulging in the most extravagant treats, and none of us will be counting the calories when Creams Café opens in Westgate Buildings on 18 December.  Known for its ice creams and flamboyant desserts, they state every visit should be ‘an indulgent adventure for the senses’.
With a menu packed full of sundaes, waffles, crepes and gelatos, what’s there to not to like? We have our eye on the puddings menu: cheesecakes, brownies, chocolate lava pudding – we may just have to have a team visit this Christmas.
Dos Dedos
WOW – what else can we say about this new and only Mexican addition to the culinary experience our city has to offer?  Located in Edgar Mews on Bartlett Street, they specialise in tacos and nachos but you can’t ignore their fantastic selection of drinks, including tequila and mezcal-based cocktails.
The dark and authentic décor of Dos Dedos (two fingers) really adds to the whole effect, and we have to mention the playlist as well – it really is an experience, one we’ll be having again very soon.
The Richmond Arms
Last month saw the welcome reopening of The Richmond Arms in Lansdown after being closed for almost two years.  Those local to the pub will know that its reopening wouldn’t have been possible if it hadn’t been for the local community support.  The pub has seen hundreds of thousands spent on the restoration and even had local residents helping to paint and donating plants.
This pub encompasses the true essence of what a real ‘local’ should be, and our team for one will be going to support this fantastic venture so it continues to thrive for years to come.
Where will you visit this winter?  Maybe you’ll try one of these delicious places.  Wherever you venture to in the city, if you find an area you love and want to make your home, come and chat to our team at The Apartment Company.

If you plan on buying a property, you may have come across property descriptions such as leasehold and freehold. You must understand the differences between these statuses and how they affect the property owner. We are here to help you consider both situations, and if you have any questions regarding leasehold and freehold property, please get in touch.

Live interview with Apartment Company lettings expert, Nicola Wilkes...

Isn’t it funny that nobody boasts they are a buy to let landlord anymore? Roll the clock back to the early millennium and you couldn’t go to the local golf club or shop at a Waitrose without someone dropping buy to let into the conversation as easily and as often as the weather.
